Accessibility Statement

Last Updated: April 27, 2026 · Last Audit: April 27, 2026 (pa11y + axe-core, WCAG 2.1 Level AA)

Our Commitment

Kaizen AI Lab is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards to make our website usable by all visitors, regardless of ability.

Conformance Status

We aim to conform to Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA, the standard recommended by the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) and referenced in U.S. Department of Justice guidance for compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Our automated audits use both pa11y (HTMLCS runner) and axe-core, supplemented by manual keyboard and screen reader review.

This site has been built with accessibility in mind from the ground up rather than relying on third-party accessibility overlay widgets, which the Federal Trade Commission has found do not reliably make websites accessible (see FTC v. accessiBe, January 2025).

Accessibility Features

Specific accessibility features implemented on kaizenailab.com include:

  • Keyboard navigation: All interactive elements (links, buttons, menus) are operable via keyboard alone. A "Skip to main content" link is the first focusable element on every page.
  • Screen reader support: Semantic HTML5 landmarks (header, nav, main, footer) and ARIA labels are used throughout. Images include alternative text where they convey meaning; decorative images are marked appropriately.
  • Visible focus indicators: Clear focus rings appear on every interactive element when navigated by keyboard.
  • Color contrast: Text and background colors meet or exceed the WCAG AA 4.5:1 contrast ratio requirement for normal text.
  • Responsive design: The site reflows and remains usable at 200% zoom and on mobile devices without loss of content or functionality.
  • Reduced motion: Animations respect the user's prefers-reduced-motion setting.
  • Proper heading hierarchy: Pages use a single H1 followed by logical H2 and H3 structure.
  • Descriptive link text: Links describe their destination rather than using "click here" or "read more" alone.
  • High contrast mode: Site styles respect Windows High Contrast Mode (forced-colors).
  • Language identification: The page language is declared in HTML (lang="en") for proper screen reader pronunciation.

Compatibility

kaizenailab.com is designed to be compatible with the following assistive technologies:

  • Recent versions of NVDA, JAWS, and VoiceOver screen readers
  • Recent versions of Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari browsers on desktop and mobile
  • Voice control software including Dragon NaturallySpeaking and macOS/iOS Voice Control
  • Operating system-level accessibility features (zoom, contrast adjustment, reduced motion)

Known Limitations

Despite our efforts, some content may not yet meet WCAG 2.2 Level AA in all respects. Known areas where we are working to improve include:

  • Some embedded third-party content (e.g., Cal.com booking widget) is governed by the third party's accessibility implementation. We have selected vendors that prioritize accessibility but cannot directly modify their interfaces.
  • Older blog content may not have all images optimized with descriptive alternative text. We are conducting an ongoing review.

Ongoing Efforts

Accessibility is treated as an ongoing process rather than a one-time fix. Our practices include:

  • Manual keyboard and screen reader testing on new templates and major updates
  • Automated accessibility scanning as part of the build process
  • Quarterly accessibility reviews of high-traffic pages
  • Treating accessibility bug reports with the same urgency as functional bug reports
